"Our lack of reconciliation with the truth of our mortality I feel has given rise to global suffering, consumerism, stupidity..."

"Now is the time for us all to consider what we're missing as a culture because of our disconnection from our own mortality"

Ram Dass

Dying Into Love is a series of 42 on-line videos, in bite-sized chunks,
totaling almost 18 hours, from three intimate workshops
illuminating all aspects of dying, clinical and esoteric,
in order to reclaim death as a sacred component of everyday life.

Some of the participants are professional caregivers, some are dying
themselves, and some are spiritual people who wish to consider
the issues of death as a way of enhancing their
own consciousness and move closer to God.

We have all kinds of education –
but what prepares us to deal with the
death of a loved one or our own passing?

How can we be of the highest service to
someone who is dying without "Burning Out"?

Based on a series of three intimate workshops,
learn from FOUR AUTHORITIES in the field.

Watching DYING INTO LOVE You Will Learn:

What to expect when you are expecting to die.

How to take stock of your own attitudes and understandings of death.

How caregivers can put their own beliefs and stories around death "on hold" to allow the dying person to have their own unique experience.

What you can do now help ensure that you have the kind of death you want.

Skills and techniques to develop Compassion and Equanimity in the face of death.

Skills and techniques for giving and receiving "Presence", the greatest gift you can give a dying person - to simply be a loving and neutral witness to their process.

Meditations for caregivers to ward off burn out and secondary trauma.

An understanding and appreciation for the difference between pain and suffering.

How having an intimate personal relationship with death can lead to a more fulfilling, happier and well balanced life now.

Natural Transitions Magazine called Dying Into Love a "dynamic, sobering, and often profound collection of teaching moments...

In a beautifully choreographed presentation, the principle speakers weave personal and universal discoveries to overcome fear in order to experience the human needs and spiritual awakenings that are present in the transition called death.

As a whole, the video segments represent a cohesive pattern of inquiry and wisdom, spanning both philosophical thought and down-to-earth concerns for ourselves and for our loved ones."

Why Is DYING INTO LOVE Important?

Before our “modern” age, virtually all cultures on earth wove Death rituals into the fabric of everyday life, enjoying the balance, appreciation and connection with their ancestors and children’s children that such practices create.

But, in today’s disconnected consumer culture, life is seen as an entitlement and death has no valued role - our ancestors are forgotten and the earth and our children’s future has been exploited and mortgaged away. Our deaths have been stripped of all intimacy and meaning by a profit-driven establishment that manipulates us and views death as failure, the end of their gravy train.

As the baby boomers age more and more of us are confronted
with death issues and hardly anyone is prepared.
The result is fear, separation and suffering.

Dying Into Love is dedicated to broadening the discussion around dying, providing information, both clinical and esoteric, so that all aspects of death can be reclaimed as sacred components of everyday life.

Learn how to soften the path for anyone who is dying (including yourself).
Ease the fear and help heal society too, one death at a time, by Dying Into love.

"It's been so helpful to be at this seminar to understand that death is a part of life. I'm so touched by the presenters, so advanced in their consciousness, so open, so loving, so passionate about this process.

I have a medical background and I was never taught how to be with a dying person, it was very inadequate.

The subject of Presence is particularly dear to me and it was beautifully handled by Joan and Ram Dass. I already feel some of the mystery around that dissolving."

-Herb B.

"I've come to realize just how important this is, how basically ignorant most of us are about how to face the fears, the anxieties and various emotions around the dying process.

Not to talk about it, not to plan for it, not to be with it, to see it as sacred ritual of life.

It's so obvious now, this is as eloquent in the universe as birth. Its really important to educate yourself, begin to talk about it, review your world views on subjects like god and death, and fear around dying.

It¹s a conversation that needs to happen."

Having people who have been at this for awhile and who have had experience with it, that¹s valuable stuff.

These are the current issues I've had to deal with, that¹s particularly valuable.

About the Workshop Presenters

 Ram Dass

Ram DassIn 1961, at age 28, Richard Alpert was a rising star in the academic world, with a PhD in Psychology from Stanford, a teaching position at Harvard and research grants from both Stanford and Yale. Realizing that his own personal neurosis was a formidable match for all that psychology had to offer, Alpert saw that the path he was on wasn't going to deliver him a satisfying life.

Another research psychologist, Dr. Timothy Leary, entered the scene and with him came exposure to newly discovered psychedelics. The research they did together using psychedelics helped Alpert crack open the narrow confines of his life so far AND got them both fired from Harvard. Free to search out new horizons, Alpert went to India where a chance encounter let him to experience something he'd never experienced before and had always craved; the warm embrace of true unconditional love.

As a student of Hindu guru Neem Karoli Baba, Alpert (renamed Ram Dass, which means "Servant of God") absorbed eastern philosophies and upon returning to the west embarked on a series of teachings that got summarized into the book Remember: Be Here Now.

Be Here Now sparked a generation of wisdom seekers and has had a major impact on the course of western society's opening to alternative understandings of life's purpose, as well as the explosion of both yoga and meditation practice.

Ever inquiring,
Ram Dass sought out the frontiers of western society's dysfunctions and began teaching about Death and Dying as a means of cracking open the narrow confines of western thought and the common consumption-driven American life. These seminars are dedicated to the notion that an intimate understanding of death can lead to a more joyous and productive life, here and now.
